Does This Sound Familiar?
Now that you’ve eliminated alcohol/drugs from your life, it’s lonely.
Not because there isn’t anyone around, but because you’ve changed, and the people around you haven’t.
Some of your old friends are supportive, which is great… but they don’t really get how sobriety works or why it’s so important. They may even ask if you can just have one or if you’ll have a drink just for this special occasion.
Even in the places where you‘d think they would get it, like a yoga class and your doctor’s office, they still think wine is health food!
Maybe you’ve got friends who’ve also eliminated alcohol, but they are “cali-sober”. Sadly, when they get high on weed, they become mentally and emotionally unavailable.
The thing is, you crave being around other people who value an intentional, fully present life, who understand and accept where you are now, and who will inspire you to continue evolving.
In My Sober Girlfriends we believe intentional sobriety is a desirable way to experience a full-spectrum, empowered life. In our collective you’ll be able to…
Meet like-minded women
The work of finding other interesting, inspiring sober women professionals who are ready to invest in themselves is done for you.
Deepen connection
Connect more deeply with yourself, other members, and the greater world through curated activities, events, and a professionally managed experience designed to elevate your sober lifestyle experience.
Gain confidence
No matter how you feel about your sobriety now, you’ll value it even more when you spend time with others who value theirs. We’re here to enjoy the rich, full-spectrum life that sobriety brings.
Other sober groups are:
Focused on helping people who are struggling to get consecutive sober days
A giant online group
Casual meetup groups for local sober/sober-curious folks that focus on doing activities alcohol-free instead of living a fully conscious, sober lifestyle
What Makes Us Different
But we’re about more than getting sober and meeting people.
We’re founded on the belief that your thriving sober lifestyle is an upleveled experience of life.
Everything in our collective is intentionally designed based on positive psychology, with your joyful, resilient sober life in mind.
You can be part of a group where thriving as a sober professional is the norm by following these three steps:
1. Join the membership.
Everything is housed in an off-Facebook membership hub that can be accessed through a laptop and an app. There are no social media distractions here, just connection.
There is both a monthly option and annual option with two months free. Cancel anytime.
3. Start participating in the way that works for you.
Although there is plenty of healthy encouragement to participate, you are welcome to show up in whatever way works for you. Whether you want to take your time easing in, or jump right in and start attending events, you do you.
2. Schedule your welcome call.
Watch for your 1:1 welcome message from Naomi, the founder. You can then schedule your 30-minute Zoom call with her so you can ask questions and feel more comfortable attending your first event.
You need a group of wholehearted sober professional women in your life.
At My Sober Girlfriends we know you are the kind of professional woman who wants to feel proud of your choice to live a sober lifestyle even when people around you don’t totally understand. You want to orient towards opportunities to continue your journey of health and growth as a sober person.
To wholeheartedly embrace your full potential, you need to have people around you who you relate to and who will support and inspire you on your sober journey. (Not people who would agree it’s a good idea to return to the exhaustion of moderation!)
The problem is that sober groups are either focused on helping people who have serious issues and really struggling to get consecutive days of sobriety, giant online groups of people you’ll never meet in real life, or casual meetups that are just focused on doing activities without alcohol, not on living a conscious lifestyle as a sober person. These are all needed, and you may have benefitted from these kinds of groups. But now you’re looking for something else.
Another problem is that many people out there aren’t up to speed on the modern landscape of sobriety. That means that in other groups that are seemingly focused on health and growth when you reveal that you’re sober, you can tell people have all kinds of assumptions about you that just aren’t true. You want to be able to talk openly about your sobriety without worrying about being misunderstood.
It doesn’t seem like there is a space for you, and you’re stuck tolerating that feeling of being a lone cowboy who doesn’t fit in anywhere!
We believe it’s a travesty that anyone would have to feel like their best decision isn’t 100% supported and understood. We understand what it’s like to feel that longing to be authentically seen.
That’s why I created this group for thriving sober professional women. We’re realistic and accepting of life's realities, but we also harness the power of positive psychology to create a life we love.
Here’s how it works:
Sign up for the membership, a collective of other intelligent, wholehearted, sober women professionals from our Portland metro area. You might meet a yoga teacher, therapist, artist, writer, lawyer, healthcare worker, scientist, content writer, or MBA student… basically smart, compassionate, forward-thinking women who, for whatever reason, have made the decision to live alcohol and drug-free, fully present lives.
The membership is housed in an off-Facebook membership hub so you can connect with other members anytime– including private messaging– and share sobriety-related articles, podcast episodes, local events, recommendations for places with great NA cocktail lists, etc. You can access the site through the web on your laptop and download an app to make it easy to communicate when you’re on your way to an in-person event.
Watch for a 1:1 welcome message from Naomi, the founder. She’s a committed, solidly sober, experienced leader and facilitator with a Masters in Education who is both joyful and sincere, a credentialed nature-connected life coach and certified authentic relating facilitator. Naomi will send you a link to schedule your 30-minute welcome call so you can ask questions and share a little about who you are and why you joined.
Start participating in the way that works for you. There is plenty of healthy encouragement to participate in online or in-person interactions, but you are welcome to engage in whatever way works for you. You might want to take your time to warm up or be ready to jump right in. Your participation will likely ebb and flow over time, just like life. There are facilitated in-person events intentionally designed for deeper connection to yourself and your vision, other members, and the world around you, online connection calls, a live (recorded) Monday Message from Naomi to keep you inspired and supported in your personal growth journey, and even opportunities to co-host your own event with another member because you want to keep flexing those social muscles!
So join us today, so you can stop trying to navigate this sober life alone, and start feeling that support and reinforcement of being part of a sober group that works for you, as a professional sober woman.
